While a few large, long-lived trees and shrubs seem to dominate the flora at Horse Flats, there are many other plants that grow here as well.  Some of them are annuals that appear only briefly, and may not show up at all during dry years.

Note: I’m pretty sure about the tree and shrub identifications, but less so about the wildflowers.  Many of the species are ones I’ve matched up with Tom Chester’s Mt. Hillyer trail guide.  I hope to get photos of all the plants in his guide eventually.
