http://www.earthrover.org/horse_flats/Photo_Tour/Pages/High_Chaparral.html There are only a few established problems on this huge boulder across the wash from Dragon Flake, and they’re all hard. High Chaparral is a V5 face, and the Sherman Variation (V7) heads left toward a crack splitting the face. There’s another variation between the two. There are hard projects on opposite ends of the boulder. As hinted at by the name, you have to pick your way through some high chaparral (Manzanita and Chamise, in this case) to get to the boulder, which is much bigger than it appears from across the wash. The easiest way to get to it is to head down to the wash from Dragon Flake, then go uphill and around the right side of the outcrop on the far side of the wash. From there, High Chaparral is plainly visible--pick up a faint trail to the left. Questions or comments?
