Horse Flats Bouldering
The Far Side
This area, not detailed in any guidebooks (though people have climbed here for years), is directly across the streambed from Orange Flambe. It’s one of the shadiest places to climb at Horse Flats and can be very cold in the winter. There are several worthy problems here:
•Natural Selection (V4) climbs an overhanging, right-leaning arete on one of the first boulders you come to after crossing the streambed
•Evolver (V5) climbs an obvious, overhanging arete with tiny holds
•Toothless (V5) takes long moves up the face next to Evolver
•A pair of easy (5.8?) cracks can be found in a corridor in the large formation uphill
